We are celebrating Black History Month for 2026 marking 100 years since the first observance in 1926. This centennial observance designated by the Association for the Study of African American Life and History (ASALH) focuses upon the impact of these annual celebrations on shaping a positive identity, fostering pride, and advancing equality, while also honoring the struggles and triumphs of Black labor.
